Getting Started

Get started with an intake appointment

The Rose of Durham team is ready to help you at any time during a pregnancy, or when you are already a parent with our free counselling, parenting programs, and social support programs.

Our empathetic staff are here to help you and your family stay connected - no matter who you call family. We provide services to women and men under 30 years of age, and have specific programs for both moms and dads.

The first step is to call our office at 905-432-3622 or toll-free at 1-877-282-8932, where our friendly staff will talk to you briefly about the support you might need.

Then, you’ll be connected with a counsellor, who will book an intake appointment, where they’ll seek to understand your situation, tell you about the services we offer, and connect you to additional community services. All parents who use a service or program at the Rose must have an active counsellor.

Once you’ve connected with a counsellor, you can then access our wide range of programs based on the support that you and your family need.

To start the intake process, please call our main number and ask to speak to our client care navigator who will start the easy process with a phone conversation.

Our client charter

At Rose of Durham, clients are at the centre of our work, and we treat everyone with dignity and respect. We want clients to feel safe and welcome in our programs, and to know that we will adapt our support to meet their needs.

Our services are free from discrimination and respond to the diversity within people’s lives, including being aware of the impact of societal views about family, sexuality, gender, age, class and cultural background.

Clients can withdraw from any Rose of Durham service at any time. Clients are also able to raise any concerns about our services with a counsellor who can refer them to the Clinical Manager and/or Executive Director if these concerns are not addressed. Our full complaint policy is available here.
