Anxiety Canada

Information to help adults and youth manage anxiety, plus information and self-help strategies for several disorders.  There are also practical strategies and tools to help parents manage their child’s anxiety.

Canadian Centre for Child Protection

This site provides access to resources to understand and identify child sexual abuse, to learn how to respond and report concerning behaviour and child sexual abuse, on-line safety, specialized resources and information for families who have experienced child sexual abuse and resources for parents regarding developmentally appropriate sexual behaviours in children.

Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO)

The parents and caregivers resource section provides access to a variety of materials on topics affecting children, youth and parent support.  Topics are listed alphabetically.

Children and Young Persons Rights Resource

It is important that children and young persons are empowered to exercise and receive the benefit of their rights, to advocate for their own needs, and to change the way they experience services, especially when they feel their rights have not been respected. The website outlines the rights provisions under Part II and Part X of the CYFSA using child-friendly language, acting as an accessible resource that children and young persons can turn to when they want to understand their rights. It also acts as a resource to help parents, caregivers and service providers to better understand the rights of children and young persons.

YSSN - Child / Youth Crisis Support

Children, youth, or parents can now access crisis support with mental health clinicians trained specifically in issues of child/youth mental health. To access Crisis Support, the child/youth/family must reside in Durham, Peterborough, Kawartha Lakes, Haliburton, or York and be calling with concerns regarding a child/youth under the age of 18yrs. Parents are welcome to call with or without their child/youth present but should note we cannot speak with a child/youth without his/her permission. Support is accessed by calling 1-855-310-COPE (2673) or TTY (1-866-323-7785).
