Elizabeth Pierce, BSW, MSW, RSW
Executive Director


Elizabeth has been employed with Catholic Family Services of Durham since 1996, after having obtained her Bachelor of Social Work from King's College, University of Western Ontario, and her Master's of Social Work from the University of Toronto. Elizabeth started her work at the agency as a frontline therapist, providing family, individual, couple and group counselling, and was promoted to Executive Director in 2010.

Renee Ash, BSW, MSW, RSW
Clinical Program Manager


Renee has been employed with CFSD since attaining her MSW from University of Toronto in 2001. Renee received her BSW from Ryerson University in 2000, and a BA from Concordia University in 1988. Renee’s initial position was that of clinical therapist, moving into a supervisory position in 2005, and then the Clinical Program Manager position in 2009. Renee provides clinical supervision, instruction, and support to counselling staff; therapy/counselling to individuals, couples and families with a variety of needs and challenges.

Joscelyn Henderson, BA, BSW, MSW, RSW
Clinical Program Manager


Joscelyn obtained her BA and BSW at McMaster University and worked for several years in children’s mental health and child welfare, and as the coordinator of the Ajax site of the Supervised Access Centre. She began working at CFSD in 2003 after obtaining her Master of Social Work degree at the University of Toronto. Since that time, Joscelyn has been employed at CFSD as a frontline clinical therapist, group supervisor and currently as a Clinical Manager. Joscelyn provides clinical supervision, instruction and support to the clinical therapy team.

Cindy Zamiska, BSW, RSW
French Language Services Supervisor

Cindy has been employed with CFSD since 2009. Cindy received her Bachelor of Social Work and Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from McMaster University. Prior to working at Catholic Family Services of Durham, Cindy worked for Durham Children’s Aid Society as a Family Services Worker; Contact Niagara for Children’s and Developmental Services as a Bilingual Resources Coordinator; and for Family And Children’s Services Niagara in various positions including Intake, Family Services and Adult Protective Services.

Mimma Tolfo, MSW, RSW

Group Program Supervisor


Mimma began working at Catholic Family Services of Durham in 2005 after obtaining her Bachelor of Arts Degree from York University, and Master of Social Work Degree from Wilfrid Laurier University. Mimma is employed at CFSD as a clinical therapist, providing individual, family, couple, and group counselling. Mimma is also a part of the Safer Families team, conducting assessments in the community with Durham Children’s Aid Society workers and providing ongoing counselling to participants of the program.

Tracey Camacho, BA, MA, CCC
Safer Families Supervisor
Clinical Therapist


Tracey has been working at Catholic Family Services of Durham since 2007. She coordinates the agency’s Safer Families Program which involves conducting joint assessments with Durham Children’s Aid Society to families who have experienced domestic violence. Tracey is also a clinical therapist who provides counselling to clients who have agreed to participate in the Safer Families Program. Prior to her work at CFSD, Tracey worked as a counsellor with Family Services EAP of Toronto. Tracey obtained both her Bachelors in Psychology and Masters in Counselling Psychology from McGill University. She is certified through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association as a Canadian Certified Counsellor.

Steve Burnett
Hub and Facility Manager


Steve is a new addition to the team at CFSD and supports all agencies in the building through maintenance and upgrades to the facility. Steve comes to us after 22 years with General Motors of Canada and is still a serving member of The Ontario Regiment (RCAC) where he is a Sergeant, Human Resource Administrator. Steve is responsible for general repairs and maintenance, coordinating with contractors, and promotion/fundraising for the facility.

Jenny McAlpine, BSW, MSW, RSW
Clinical Therapist


Jenny joined the CFSD team as a clinical therapist in May of 2017. Jenny earned a Bachelor of Social Work in 2014 from York University and spent several years working in the mental health field and providing social services to individuals and families throughout Durham Region. Jenny pursued additional certifications through Durham College in the study of Gerontology as well as Concurrent Disorders through the Canadian Mental Health Association. Jenny obtained a Master of Social Work with a clinical specialization from the University of New England. Jenny provides individual and family counselling in addition to facilitating children’s, couples, and family group programs.

Julie Marquis, MSc, RP
Clinical Therapist


Julie joined the CFSD team in 2021. She joined from a group private practice specializing in trauma. Julie completed her Master’s degree at the University of Liverpool and has continued to pursue specialized training in EMDR and other therapeutic approaches. Julie has a passion for working with individuals who have experienced trauma in a client centered holistic way.

Krystal Olejko-Qaqish, BSc, BSW, MSW
Clinical Therapist


Krystal began working at Catholic Family Services of Durham in November of 2019. Krystal obtained her Bachelor of Applied Science in Justice Studies from the University of Guelph-Humber, Bachelor of Social Work Degree from University of Victoria, and a Master of Social Work Degree from Kings University College at Western University. Krystal is employed at CFSD as a clinical therapist. Krystal utilizes a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches which include EMDR, CBT, and DBT informed interventions.

Lynette Temmerman, MSW, RSW
Transitional Support and Group Worker


Lynette joined the CFSD team in 2017, coming from the VAW Shelter sector with years of front line experience at Julliette’s Place in Toronto. Lynette completed her MSW and uses the combination of her practical advocacy experience and education to support women dealing with issues of violence.

Michelle Laxamana, MDiv., RP, DCP (cand.)
Clinical Therapist


Michelle is a Registered Psychotherapist and works with individuals, couples, and families. She has started with CFSD working with VAW clients in 2021. Michelle has her Master of Divinity in Clinical Counselling, is an associate member with CAMFT, trained in CBT and EMDR (Level I & II), and is obtaining her Doctor of Counselling and Psychotherapy. She works from a Family Systemic lens and has knowledge in Emotionally Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Solution Focused/ Strength-Based, and Narrative frameworks.

Rachel Ball, BSW, RSW
Intake Worker


Rachel is new to the team at CSFD, starting in January 2021. She previously worked in Long-Term Care and in group homes for adults experiencing developmental disabilities. Rachel looks forward to providing support to those in her community in this role.

Sebastian Tirovolas MSW, RSW
Clinical Therapist


Sebastian began working as a clinical therapist at Catholic Family Services of Durham in 2020. He works with children, adolescents, and adults, providing individual, couple and family counselling services. Sebastian obtained his Bachelor of Social Work at Ryerson University in 2011, before entering the field and working in Children’s Mental Health. In 2018, he returned to academia to obtain his Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University. Sebastian uses an insight-oriented approach in his counselling, supporting his clients to ask questions, and look within themselves to answer some of life’s difficult questions. He is client-centred, and has a background in EFT, ACT, CBT, DBT and mindfulness-based approaches.

Susan Koshie, BA (Hons), MDiv, RP
Clinical Therapist


Susan began working at Catholic Family Services of Durham in 2018. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from York University and then a Master of Divinity in Clinical Counselling from Tyndale University / College & Seminary. Prior to working at CFSD, she worked at The Bridge in Brampton, Ontario with men who had been incarcerated, and then as a clinical therapist with Catholic Community Services of York Region. Susan is employed at CFSD as a clinical therapist, providing counselling for individuals, couples and families, as well as in group settings. Susan is also a part of the Safer Families team at CFSD, conducting assessments in the community with Durham Children’s Aid Society and providing ongoing counselling to participants of the program

Tania McClean
Executive Assistant


Tania joined the CFSD team in 2008. She is employed at CFSD as an executive assistant, and is primarily responsible for Executive Director, Board of Directors, and administrative support, as well as relief for reception. Prior to working at CFSD, she worked in natural healthcare and customer service. Tania’s customer service background contributes to the warm, welcoming environment at CFSD.
