Elizabeth Pierce, BSW, MSW, RSW Executive Director Elizabeth has been employed with Catholic Family Services of Durham since May of 1996, after having obtained her Bachelor of Social Work from King's College, University of Western Ontario, and her Master's of Social Work from the University of Toronto. Elizabeth started her work at the agency as a front line therapist, providing family, individual, couple and group counselling, and was promoted to Executive Director in September of 2010. Renee Ash, BSW, MSW, RSW Clinical Program Manager Renee Ash has been employed with CFSD for 13 years, following her completion of MSW from University of Toronto in 2001. Renee received her BSW from Ryerson University in 2000, and a BA from Concordia University in 1988. Renee’s initial position was that of family counsellor, moving into a supervisory position in 2005, and then the Clinical Program Manager position in 2009. Currently, Renee is responsible for triage of waitlist and case management. Renee provides clinical supervision, instruction and support to counselling staff; therapy/counselling to individuals, couples and families with a multiplicity of needs and challenges. Joscelyn Henderson, B.A. B.S.W., M.S.W., R.S.W. Clinical Program Manager Joscelyn obtained her B.A and B.S.W. at McMaster University and worked for several years in the fields of Children’s Mental Health and Child Welfare and as the coordinator of the Ajax site of the Supervised Access Center. She began working at CFSD in May of 2003 after obtaining her Masters of Social Work degree at the University of Toronto. Since that time, Joscelyn has been employed at CFSD as a family counsellor where she has worked with families, couples, individuals of all ages. Joscelyn has provided many community workshops in this role on topics such as parenting, anxiety and stress management. She worked in the role of Supervisor of Group Programs at CFSD from 2012-2014. Her current position of Clinical Program Manager involves various duties including providing counselling/therapy to individuals, providing clinical supervision, instruction and support to counselling staff and supervising the agency’s group programs including Woman Abuse, Parenting After Conflict and Children Exposed to Conflict programs. Cindy Zamiska, B.S.W., R.S.W. French Language Services Supervisor Family Counsellor Cindy has been employed with CFSD since October 2009. Cindy received her Bachelor of Social Work and Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from McMaster University. Prior to working at Catholic Family Services of Durham, Cindy worked for Durham Children’s Aid Society as a Family Services Worker; Contact Niagara for Children’s and Developmental Services as a Bilingual Resources Coordinator; and for Family And Children’s Services Niagara in various positions including Intake, Family Services and Adult Protective Services. Mimma Tolfo, M.S.W., R.S.W. Family Counsellor Group Program Supervisor Mimma began working at Catholic Family Services of Durham in May of 2005 after obtaining her Bachelor of Arts Degree from York University in Toronto, Ontario, and Master of Social Work Degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. Mimma is employed at CFSD as a family counsellor, providing individual, family, couple, and group counselling. Mimma is also a part of the Safer Families team, conducting assessments in the community with Durham CAS workers and providing ongoing counselling to participants of the program. Tracey Camacho, BA, MA, CCC Safer Families Supervisor Family Counsellor Tracey has been working at Catholic Family Services of Durham since January 2007. She coordinates the agency’s Safer Families Program which involves conducting joint assessments with Durham Children’s Aid Society to families who have experienced domestic violence. Tracey is also a family counsellor who provides counselling to clients who have agreed to participate in the Safer Families Program. Prior to her work at CFSD, Tracey worked as a counsellor with Family Services EAP of Toronto. Tracey obtained both her Bachelors in Psychology and Masters in Counselling Psychology from McGill University. She is certified through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association as a Canadian Certified Counsellor. Janine Lisowski, MSW RSW Family Counsellor Janine works as a family counselor at Catholic Family Services of Durham since 2015. Janine is a family counselor, providing individual, family, couple and group counseling. Janine obtained her Master of Social Work, from the University of Toronto, with a specialization in children and their families. Janine has a background in EFT, Narrative work, CBT/DBT, is trained in EMDR and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (Level 2 C-PTSD). Janine has a passion for working with individuals (adults and children) who have experienced trauma in a client focused neurobiological way. Jenny McAlpine, BSW, M.S.W Jenny joined the CFSD team as a family counsellor in May of 2017. Jenny earned a Bachelor of Social Work in 2014 from York University and spent several years working in the mental health field and providing social services to individuals and families throughout Durham Region. Jenny pursued additional certifications through Durham College in the study of Gerontology as well as Concurrent Disorders through the Canadian Mental Health Association. Jenny obtained a Master of Social Work with a clinical specialization from the University of New England. Jenny provides individual and family counselling in addition to facilitating children’s, couples, and family group programs. Lynette Temmerman, M.S.W., R.S.W Transitional Support and Group Worker Lynette is a new addition to the team at CFSD, joining us in March 2017. She joins us from the VAW Shelter sector with years of front line experience at Julliette’s Place in Toronto. Lynette completed her MSW and uses the combination of her practical advocacy experience and education to support women dealing with issues of violence. Mallory MacIsaac, BA, MA, RP Family Counsellor Mallory began working for Catholic Family Services of Durham in June 2018. Mallory received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario and Masters of Counselling Psychology from Adler University in Vancouver, British Columbia. She completed her clinical placement at KW Counselling Services in Waterloo. Mallory is employed at CFSD as a family counsellor providing individual, family, and couple counselling. She is excited to be joining the CFSD team. Susan Koshie, BA (Hons) MDiv. RP Family Counsellor Susan began working at Catholic Family Services of Durham in May 2018. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from York University in Toronto, Ontario, and then a Master of Divinity in Clinical Counselling from Tyndale University / College & Seminary which is also located in Toronto. Prior to working at Catholic Family Services of Durham she worked at The Bridge in Brampton, Ontario with men who had been incarcerated, and then as a family counsellor with Catholic Community Services of York Region. Susan is employed at CFSD as a family counsellor, providing counselling for individuals, couples & families as well as in group settings. Susan is also a part of the Safer Families team at CFSD, conducting assessments in the community with Durham CAS and providing ongoing counselling to participants of the program Theresa Arsenault, BSW, MSW, RSW Family Counsellor Theresa has been employed with Catholic Family Services of Durham since September of 2008, after having obtained her Bachelor of Social Work from York University. Theresa started her work at the agency as a group worker, facilitating the Woman against Violence 12 week program. Theresa took a brief hiatus to complete her Master of Social Work at University of Toronto in 2012. Prior to working with the agency, Theresa worked front line for the Ministry of Community and Social Services in family court, helping parents work through custody, access and child support issues. She also spent several years with the same Ministry working with various populations as a front line social assistance worker. Theresa enjoyed her volunteer work with Distress Centre Durham as a help line worker and speaking to local high school classrooms on Suicide Awareness and Prevention. Currently Theresa is a Family Counsellor at Catholic Family Services of Durham providing individual and family counselling. Diane Nehring Reception/Administrative Assistant Diane has been with CFSD since 2005. She is a graduate of the 2 year Business program, and various upgrading programs at Durham College. Diane is primarily responsible for administrative support for the counselling and group programs, as well as providing excellent client service at reception. Tania McClean Executive Assistant Tania McClean began working at CFSD in April of 2008. Prior to working at CFSD, Tania worked in natural healthcare and customer service. Tania is employed at CFSD as an executive assistant, and is primarily responsible for Executive Director, Board of Directors, and administrative support, as well as relief for reception. Tania’s customer service background contributes to the warm, welcoming environment at CFSD.
